Facilitation

Creative people, such as artists and theatrical producers deal in ideas, but the realisation of these ideas is often beyond the scope of their skills. This is where a technical facititator with a broad range of skills is required to take the idea from its concept through to its realisation.

As an example, we could take an idea for a video installation from the original concept, through storyboard and pre-production and on to filming and final editing. The video would then be burnt to DVD by us and the final projected image would be installed by us. Feedback and consultation with the artist is encouraged at every stage of the process to ensure they get the result they require. As facilitators for such a project, AVA would provide camera equipment, lighting, video production facilities, DVD burning and the display equipment, alongside qualified personnel to provide a 'one-stop-shop' solution.

Kadam

In July 2001 we were asked to be involved in a project where a dance video piece was exhibited on three synchronised plasma screens. This was toured around various venues and each had specific installation requirements. Safety of the public was also an obvious consideration. AVA designed and installed the rig in all the venues, culminating in a performance with the screens at St Georges Hall in Liverpool.

Inga Burroughs

Inga Burroughs requested a building to be used as a projection screen. The result, provided by 2, 5000 ansi projectors housed in custom made projection booths and fed by 2 sync'd DVD players, can be seen on the adjacent image.
