Imagineering
In our role as 'imagineers', AVA have the ability to take a technology based creative idea and fully realise it from original design through to final build. In association with F.A.C.T. (Foundation for Art, Cinema and Technology), we can interpret ideas and demonstrate concepts that aid the realisation of the finished work. There are many 'black arts' in the realisation of work, such as specific computer programs and computer interfaces. We do not pretend to know all about every discipline involved with new media artworks, but, after 9 years in the industry, we have knowledge of the people who do know these disciplines. Again, consultation with the artist is utilised at all stages of the production.
The Fly
The Fly was a play based on the 1950's B movie of the same name. The director, Garry Robson, asked us to provide stage props (such as the teleporter control console seen in the flyer), video to be projected behind the actors (for effects such as the teleporter operation) and a wireless remote CCTV camera that was used as the flies eye view.
An extension of our skills as imagineers, AVA have the ability to design and manufacture animatronic and robotic creations. Again, any idea can be discussed for feasibility and we will then take on the project ensuring it is completed within budget whilst still realising the artistic remit.
